Easter with no bunnies, eggs or scavenger hunts

Easter is arguably the most important “Holiday” in the Christian faith, and yet it probably the most misunderstood, abused and bastardized. Something perfect and beautiful died in our place and yet we spit in His face everyday with our actions, words, works and lack of faith in what He accomplished on the Cross that day. He died for us because we are helpless in ourselves and could never pay the debt. Ever wonder why hell is eternal? Those who are not in Him are punished eternally because not even the eternal pain and suffering (that some will face) is enough to pay the debt of our sin stained lives. As much as we were in Adam and contributors in the fall we have full access to forgiveness, redemption and the substutionary atoning death of Jesus Christ because we are in Him and Him in us. We are no longer under condemnation because of His Death, burial and resurrection, not our works. He paid the debt for us; he is the propitiation that satisfied God. Let us be thankful with Love and humility.
