Summary

In the fourth sermon of the Elijah: God's Strength Found in Weakness, Pastor Todd continues in 1 Kings 18:19-31. We learn that all of us our theologians in some way. We are constantly interperting life within our theological framework, wether concious or not. In this episode of Elijah's story, we can often see ourselves identified not with Elijah, or the even the prophets of Ba'al, but with the people of Israel on the sidelines who were "limping between two opinions" about who God is and what he is like. Although God has revealed himself through the Apostles, Prophets, and Jesus Christ, we often feel that we are too sophisticated for the revelation that he has provided. Our own theology, or worldview, is always somewhat broken. We are moving towards a Biblical worldview, although never having a perfect one in this life. Having this humble posture is an essential component of understanding the Gospel and our own human frailty.
