In this, the first sermon of the Abide series, Michael Howarth preaches from the book of 1 John, chapter one. We come face to face with the revelation that the gospel is a larger story than the incarnation and life of Jesus. The good news begins with God's ineffable brilliance: "God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." 

About the Speaker

Michael Howarth | Director of Liturgy

Michael is a husband and a father. He is a lifelong Rhode Islander and came to faith by way of a ten-year process where God pursued and transformed him between the ages of 11 and 21. Michael provides for his family by working as a marketing copywriter, and is also pursuing a BA in Biblical Studies. As Director of Liturgy at Sacred Journey, Michael is responsible for being a welcoming voice on Sunday mornings and overseeing the order and flow of each service. He also leads Sacred Journey’s Johnston Discipleship Community. Michael, his wife, Julie, and their two daughters, Grace and Abigail, reside just outside Providence in Johnston, Rhode Island, where they can often be found at the park being silly.
