Are you new here?
Welcome to Sacred Journey Church
Sacred Journey Church exists to bring spiritual renewal to the people of Providence by reconnecting them with Jesus through biblical teaching, inspiring worship, strengthening families, and serving our community.
How do I get there?
Sacred Journey Church currently meets at the Providence Career and Technical Academy located in Providence at 91 Fricker St. As you approach, you will see SJ banners and signage all over the place to direct you. You can get full directions via Google Maps here.
Back to the topWhat time do you meet?
We meet at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. We also have various home groups that meet all over Rhode Island at different days and times. If you would like to get into a community group go here for more info.
Back to the topWhat is a Sunday morning service like?
Our Sunday morning gathering is much like a family getting together to celebrate. At SJ we are a bunch of families or communities spread over Rhode Island and on Sunday we get together for a big celebration to worship God and give him the praise He is due in corporate worship. We love to gather in small groups throughout the week in homes, but there is something special that happens when God's people gather together and enjoy the sacraments as a body. At SJ we hold the Bible in high esteem and we get to hear Pastor Todd work through books of the Bible each week. This Sunday morning gathering is a great place to explore God and get to experience worship in a group environment. Do you love to wear a suit and tie on Sundays? Do you prefer to wear jeans and a t-shirt? Either way, you are welcome to come worship with us. We have no dress code, but want people to wear what they feel comfortable in.
Back to the topWhere do my kids go?
At Sacred Journey, your children's safety and care is of the utmost importance. When you come to SJ you won't need to worry if your kids are safe, but you will be free to sit and listen to the Sermon and worship with God's people.
Children 0-3
Our Nursery is for children 0-3 years old. We have a staff of women who will care for your child while you are away. We have safety precautions set up to protect your child such as a sign in table with numbered tags. Your child will receive a numbered tag that clips to their clothing, and you will receive a matching tag. No children can be checked out without the matching number.
Children 4-9
Children from 4-9 have the option to go to Children's church, or remain with you during the service. Children's church is much like the worship service at SJ that you will be attending. There is music, a Bible story, prayer and then some games and fun.
Back to the topAre there small groups?
Yes indeed! At Sacred Journey, community is a big piece of what we do. If you only have time to get to either the large gathering on Sunday morning or a small group during the week we would suggest skipping out on the Sunday morning gathering. They are both important, but community is more important to spiritual formation. All of the sermons are online, and can be downloaded here, for those who can't make it. If you are churched, unchurched, an atheist or agnostic we would love to invite you into our community where you can have a safe place to ask questions, doubt and seek God in a comfortable place. If you would like to get into a community group go here for more info. If you have questions about community groups please contact Joan Kirk.
Back to the topWhat Do We Believe?
